As a physical education major, students learn to promote physical activity and health in individuals of all ages. When combined with a strength and conditioning emphasis (coaching minor) in equips them to enhance athletic performance.

Upon graduation, students can earn state certification to teach K-12 physical education and can pursue an outdoor education certificate.

For those interested in coaching, the program provides credentials to work with students from grades 6-12, as well as college or professional athletes.

Moreover, the door to further academic pursuits remains open, with the option to explore graduate studies in related fields such as kinesiology, education, counseling or educational administration.

To earn a teaching certification, students must comply with the requirements described in the College of Education section of the course catalog. Specific requirements involve criteria for admission and retention to the teacher education program and admission to student teaching.
