Graduate Resources
Academic Warning & GPA Requirements
The master of science is a two-year, 36-hour degree in which students complete 15 hours of required courses, 15 hours of courses specific to their area of emphasis, and six hours of thesis research. Throughout the program, kinesiology graduate students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0. A graduate student who achieves a cumulative GPA of less than 3.0 at any point in their program will be placed on academic warning. A student can be removed from that status by achieving a 3.0 cumulative average by the end of the next nine hours of enrollment. Failure to resolve academic warning issues will result in removal of assistantship support and/or dismissal from the program. No student is allowed to graduate with less than a 3.0 cumulative GPA. All grades are included in the computation of the GPA, but no more than six hours of a minimum of a “C” grade may be used to satisfy degree requirements.
