The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists represents more than 50,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists across the United States. The organization offers support to members involved in education, practice and research. The AANA has overseen the certification of nurse anesthetists since 1945 and the accreditation of programs since 1952.
State branches of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists represent professionals and students at the local level. Associations may offer a combination of full-time staff, lobby teams and legal representation, conferences, and facilitate communication within the medical community.
