MSN Clinical Nurse Leader

The Clinical Nurse Leader (CNL) is an “advanced generalist” in the clinical microsystem charged with supervising the care of a group of patients, evaluating their risks and outcomes, and coordinating their care with other health care professionals. The focus of this role is evidence-based practice, safety, quality, risk reduction, and cost containment. As an advanced generalist, the CNL has the opportunity to work with all patient population sin all practice settings.

  • 33 hours total (27 hrs didactic, two hours practicum, four hours residency)
  • Two years full-time or three years part-time
  • Clinical practicum experiences with qualified preceptors take place close to home when possible
