Women & Gender Studies

The women and gender studies certificate option is available for two-year MSW students. Students are required to take four courses to qualify for the certificate. The required social work courses include Diversity, HBSE 1, and Professional Foundation to be taken in the first year of the program. The fourth course is the Graduate Colloquium in Feminist Theories and Methodologies: WOST 60003, alternatively listed as BRIT 90003/ENGL 80123.

The graduate colloquium is offered in the fall and spring semesters and can be taken in place of one of the second-year social work electives. Additional information about women and gender studies can be found at the link for the women and gender studies home page. See the course catalog for course requirements and information.
