Admission Process

Main Content

TCU Physician Associate Studies reviews applications through a multi-step process designed to identify applicants who are academically prepared for the rigor of PA education and who demonstrate strong potential for success in the program.

Academic Screening

The initial screening focuses on academic readiness. Applications that meet the minimum prerequisite and cumulative GPA requirement are ranked based on academic performance, considering:

  • Prerequisite GPA
  • Cumulative GPA
  • Recent academic performance, academic trajectory, and evidence of upward trend in coursework

This allows the program to evaluate whether applicants have demonstrated the academic preparation needed for success in a rigorous graduate-level PA curriculum.

File Review

Applicants who demonstrate the strongest academic readiness receive a file review. During this review, the Admissions Committee reviews additional application materials to better understand each applicant’s experiences, preparation, personal qualities, and alignment with the mission and values of TCU PA Studies.

Applicants who have been awarded or are scheduled to be awarded a degree from TCU will automatically receive a file review as part of the admissions process.

Interview Consideration

Following the file review, selected applicants will be invited to participate in a formal, in-person interview. Only applicants who have completed a formal interview will be considered for admission.

Admission Decisions

The Admissions Committee makes admission decisions on a rolling basis through a comprehensive review of each interviewed applicant. Decisions may include acceptance, denial, or placement on the waitlist.
