Overview
The Harris College Academic Resource Center (HARC) provides academic advising for prospective and first- and second-year students in Harris College to help develop their academic goals in the health and helping professions.
The HARC’s goal is to enhance the overall student experience and prepare graduates for a lifelong career in health sciences providing:
- Academic advising
- Educational workshops
- Career preparedness
- Study abroad information
- Student research opportunities
- Graduate program information
- Leadership development
The HARC is located on the second floor of the Annie Richardson Bass building in the dean’s suite.
Preparing for Your Advising Appointment
What is expected of Harris College students?
- Read the Advising email regarding all important dates for when to set up the advising appointment.
- Meet with your academic advisor at least once each semester.
- Make appointments with your Harris academic advisor as needed, ideally at least once semester and more often if needed. To make an appointment, go to tcu.stellic.com or the Stellic tile on your myTCU homepage.
- Review and understand the Harris College requirements for your degree such as associated requirements.
- Prepare for your advising appointments, and be actively involved in the advising process.
- Review your degree audit and Stellic plan before your appointment.
- Advisors will review an Advising Syllabus during the meeting and be prepared to go over the information.
- Bring a list of questions for your Harris College academic advisor.
- Bring advising information that you’ve received from your honors, and minor academic advisors.
- Check TCU e-mail from your Harris Academic Advisor as they send out important information regarding dates, advising, and enrollment.
- Take responsibility for making your own academic and career decisions and for monitoring your own academic progress.

Career Preparation
Harris College offers career services such as resume critiques, mock interviews, academic
major and career exploration, and career fairs to help students prepare for careers
in health and helping professions.
Schedule an appointment through Handshake.
- Log in to your Handshake account.
- Click Career Center > Appointments > Schedule a New Appointment
- Follow the prompts.
