Harris College’s Discover TCU Nursing summer camp returns offering two sessions. This camp is open to high school juniors and seniors who are interested in learning what a career in nursing is really like.

Campers also see what being a student at TCU could be like through its residential experience – an opportunity to live on-campus for five days.

Session One: Sunday, June 23 – Friday, June 28, 2024

Session Two: Sunday, July 7 – Friday, July 12, 2024

Campers can expect to:

  • Learn from TCU Nursing faculty and students.
  • Practice effective communication skills.
  • Learn nursing skills such as assessing patients, caring for wounds, taking vital signs and using medical terminology.
  • Learn how nurses use knowledge of anatomy and physiology, math and systems to care for patients.
  • Interact with human patient simulators.
  • Tour a local hospital.
  • Complete an American Heart Association CPR course.
  • Gain insight into TCU and the TCU Nursing program.

Cost

The cost of attendance is $950 per camper and includes housing for five nights, meals, T-shirt, stethoscope and all activities.

Limited scholarships are available for accepted participants. More information will be provided in the acceptance email.

How to Apply

Those interested should submit the application form and essay, current high school transcript and recommendation form by March 18, 2024.

Students selected for admission to camp will be notified by April 15, 2024.
