Harris College’s Discover TCU Nursing summer camp returns offering two sessions. This camp is open to high school juniors and seniors who are interested in learning what a career in nursing is really like.

Campers also see what being a student at TCU could be like through its residential experience – an opportunity to live on-campus for five days.

Session One: Sunday, June 23 – Friday, June 28, 2024

Session Two: Sunday, July 7 – Friday, July 12, 2024

Campers can expect to:

  • Learn from TCU Nursing faculty and students.
  • Practice effective communication skills.
  • Learn nursing skills such as assessing patients, caring for wounds, taking vital signs and using medical terminology.
  • Learn how nurses use knowledge of anatomy and physiology, math and systems to care for patients.
  • Interact with human patient simulators.
  • Tour a local hospital.
  • Complete an American Heart Association CPR course.
  • Gain insight into TCU and the TCU Nursing program.

The cost of attendance is $950 per camper and includes housing for five nights, meals, T-shirt, stethoscope and all activities.

Limited scholarships are available for accepted participants. More information will be provided in the acceptance email.
