Nicole Frederick DNP (’24), APRN, ACCNS-AG, CCRN, TCRN, joins the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences as an assistant professor of professional practice, contributing her extensive expertise in trauma, critical care and clinical nursing.

Expertise in Trauma and Critical Care

 Originally from Amarillo and Carrollton, Frederick has called Fort Worth home since 2002.

Her dedication to nursing began with a commitment to the health care field, which she advanced by earning her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from TCU in 2019, specializing as a clinical nurse specialist (CNS).

Her career has been marked by a focus on trauma and critical care, areas she has devoted her professional life to mastering.

Before joining TCU full-time, Frederick served as the Trauma Clinical Nurse Specialist at Texas Health Harris Methodist Fort Worth. She also has academic experience as the CNS Program Director at Emory & Henry College in Virginia and as an adjunct faculty member at TCU since 2021.

Her professional background includes significant expertise in cardiothoracic surgery, evidence-based practice, quality and process improvement and change management.

Looking Forward

Frederick is eager to contribute to the academic community at TCU, where she aims to integrate her passion for trauma and critical care into her teaching.

She is focused on advancing evidence-based practice and quality improvement in nursing education and looks forward to engaging with students, staff and faculty to foster a supportive and enriching environment.
