The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences congratulates our May 2023 graduates! We proudly celebrate the accomplishments of our students, like Elena Olalde, a TCU Social Work major with Comparative Race and Ethnic Studies (CRES) emphasis and a Spanish minor.

The Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences celebrates the accomplishments of our students, like Gracie Liang, a TCU Kinesiology movement science major, Spanish for Health Professions minor, John V. Roach Honors College student, and TCU Swim & Dive Team captain. She spoke with Harris College about her undergraduate experience and post-graduate endeavors.

From a young age, Emily Sabado ’18 (MSW ’19), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) knew she wanted to be in the helping profession, and witnessing her parents build a successful business inspired her in more ways than one.

The results are in! The U.S. News & World Report has ranked TCU #43 Best Graduate School for its Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

Dr. Morgan “Joey” Davies’ personal struggles with an auditory processing disorder and dyslexia made her acutely aware of how disabilities can affect a student’s capacity to perform and succeed. After taking an American Sign Language class in high school, she knew deaf education would be her chosen career.

The HCNHS Boller Competition is an event where Harris College students in the John V. Roach Honors College present research conducted with a faculty mentor and student poster presentations highlight undergraduate and graduate student research within Harris College.

TCU Nursing senior Geo Martinez was nominated by Abell-Hanger Professor of Gerontological Nursing Dennis Cheek, Ph.D., for his action in helping another TCU student with a hypoglycemic episode, and adjunct professor Haley Trainer, MSN, RN, nominated him for his work in the labor and delivery (L&D) clinical rotation at Texas Health Resources in Fort Worth.

SAGE is part of TCU’s Interprofessional Education, Research and Practice Initiative, IPREP. This is a unique opportunity for collaboration between students from various backgrounds and disciplines to create solutions for healthier communities and safer health care systems.

How does one connect human anatomy with exercise and everyday movements? Adam King, Ph.D., associate professor of kinesiology at the Harris College of Nursing & Health Sciences, aims to do just that through his Biomechanics course.
